Rachel Johnson has worked in the field of mental health and addiction for 12 years and has worked in direct care, supervision, leadership, training, consultation, and program development capacities in clinical settings. She focuses her research on the intersection of addiction and other behavioral or environmental factors, such as human trafficking and problem gambling. She holds a MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision with a focus on Forensic Mental Health. She currently serves as the Vice President of Clinical Services at Center for Addiction Treatment, offering clinical counseling for people with substance use disorders, gambling disorder, and co-occurring mental health disorders as well as supervision, program development, and leadership for the agency. She is the Chair of the Problem Gambling Coalition of Southwest Ohio, focusing on advocacy, prevention, and treatment for problem gambling and gambling disorder. She founded and currently leads the Hamilton County Anti-Human Collaboration Board, formed as a collaborative effort between agencies and entities in Hamilton County focused on eradicating human trafficking and offering safe, trauma-informed treatment for survivors. She is a contributing faculty member at Walden University in the School of Counseling for the M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling department. She is a co-founder and consultant at EmpowHer Consultation Solutions, offering trauma-informed care, clinical training, and consultation for counseling services. |
