Mission

The mission of the Ohio Counseling Association is to support and advocate for professional licensed counselors, clients, counselor educators, and supervisors throughout the state. We are guided by the values of holistic wellness and development, utilizing researched best practices, holding professionals to ethical and competence standards, recognition of diversity, social justice and advocacy, and a love for life-long learning. We strive to enhance the profession and its professionals by emboldening professional identity, respect for others, active collaboration among members, holding others and ourselves accountable, and working to make a difference in the lives of our members and the ones we serve.

Vision

The Ohio Counseling Association is leading state branches in its promotion and advocacy of its professional counselors and the profession as a whole.

Our association will be known for its leaders who are visionaries in the field by being at the forefront of research and best practices. We empower members to be forerunners locally, regionally, and globally by supporting professional development, leadership training, and collaboration with other helping professionals.

Our association will be known for our state conference, which will be a premiere destination for leaders, educators, supervisors, and learners of all types. We will grow to rival the largest state conferences as well as the national conference not only in size but also in the depth and breadth of offerings and opportunities.

Our association will be known for the mentorship we provide to its members. We strive to constantly develop new professionals in ethics, professional identity, competency, social justice, diversity, and leadership.
