OCA Wins American Counseling Association's State Branch Award!
The Ohio Counseling Association has been
selected to receive the ACA State Branch Advocacy Award from the
American Counseling Association. OCA will be recognized at the National
Awards Ceremony which will be held at the ACA Conference in Montréal,
at the Le Westin Hotel – Montréal Ballroom, on Saturday, April 2nd, at

As of November 30, 2015, United States Senator Sherrod Brown (Ohio) has agreed to co-sponsor Senate Bill 1830, or the Seniors Mental Health Access Improvement Act of 2015. This bill calls for the reimbursement of counselors under Medicare. A special thanks to OCA Secretary, Chelsey Zoldan and OCA Past-President, Victoria Kress for their tireless advocacy efforts related to this legislation!
This summer, OCA President Kara Kaelber, OCA President-Elect Martha Fleming, and OCA Past- President Victoria Kress, met with our state senators during the American Counseling Association's Institute for Leadership Training in Washington D.C. to discuss co-sponsoring this important legislation.
