Counselor Education Doctoral Students:
Ursuline College is accepting applications for a counselor education doctoral internship position for the 2021-2022 academic year. Ursuline College is a one-of-a-kind dually accredited counseling program in the Cleveland, Ohio area that trains students to become professional counselors (CACREP-accreditation) and art therapists (ACATE-accreditation). The doctoral internship can provide experiences and mentorship in teaching, research, and leadership on an intimate campus that transforms students for leadership, service, and professional excellence:
- Teaching: Interns are required to co-teach courses under the CACREP umbrella for the fall and spring semester, can shadow and co-teach courses in art therapy, and are afforded the opportunity to design a workshop based on their area of interest/specialty to teach independently in the spring.
- Research: Interns may also engage in presenting at conferences, and publishing scholarship, in the counseling and art therapy professions.
- Leadership: Leadership opportunities can encompass serving campus partners of the department such as the Women’s Center, engaging in social advocacy on service learning trips with faculty and students, assisting in the development of our Chi Sigma Iota chapter, and attending department and college meetings.
Interested applicants should email Dr. Jessica Headley (jessica.headley@ursuline.edu) a letter of interest, current curriculum vita, and teaching statement by November 16th.
