    WCAP MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR (LPC, LPCC, LPCC-S, LISW, LISW-S)

    WCAP Counseling is a 501c3 organization that has offered counseling services since the 1980's. As we continue to grow our services, we looking for a competent Mental Health Counselor to help provide counseling services for our clients.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below. Duties are listed for convenience, and do not indicate order in terms of importance, frequency that the duty is performed, or the amount of time spent on the duty.

    Clinical Expectations:

    • Engage in both individual and group counseling sessions with clients to provide mental health counseling/alcohol and other drug counseling
    • Conduct clinical MH/AoD assessments to identify client needs, diagnosis and identify the appropriate treatment intervention(s) to assist clients in meeting goals
    • Provides crisis intervention services for client experiencing mental health and/or chemical dependency emergency. Collaborate with Clinical Director to refer client in crisis to next level of care.
    • Facilitate and co-facilitate therapeutic counseling group(s) as assigned. Follow the necessary group counseling attendance implementation strategies as outlined by WCAP Counseling.
    • Prepare timely client progress notes, clinical assessments, treatment plans, reports, and completion notices
    • Provide paperwork to clients, courts, probation and parole departments and other referral sources
    • Maintain accurate client records to ensure compliance with all Federal and State regulations
    • Attend and actively participate in treatment team meetings and provide updates and progress on clients.
    • Maintain client safety, always, while in the facility and in service to clients
    • Engage in and complete discharge planning processes
    • Maintain communication regarding client progress and any concerns to referral sources if required
    • Engage in case management practices
    • Respond to clients in the reception area to support overall clinical operations
    • Ensure clinical decisions are made in the best interest of the client, ensuring consultation with clinical staff and Clinical Director when necessary
    • Make referrals to community resources as needed
    • Coordinating and cooperating with local agencies and organizations necessary to expedite treatment for each client

    Operational Expectations:

    • Comply with HIPAA regulation requirements to fulfill our duty and protect the confidentiality and integrity of confidential protected health information (PHI) as required by law, professional ethics, and accreditations requirements.
    • Follow licensure ethics of respective governing bodies
    • Maintain required licensure continuing education units (CEU’s) as required by governing licensure board (e.g., CSWMFT Board)
    • Orient clients to WCAP Counseling programs, policies, procedures, treatment processes, case management, and group counseling services
    • Follow the WCAP Counseling professional dress code
    • Maintain professionalism, respect, appreciation, and understanding for the population being served, the community at-large, and for agency staff/colleagues.
    • Demonstrate a willingness to be flexible and supportive of fellow staff/colleagues as needed
    • Continue to pursue further education, research, and credentials to better serve the client population.
    • Conduct professional clinical provider trainings as needed to agency staff and/or the community at large.

    Eligibility Qualifications:

    • At least 2-years’ experience as a licensed mental health practitioner in the State of Ohio (e.g., Required: L.P.C. - Preferred: L.P.C.C.; L.P.C.C.-S.; L.I.S.W.; L.I.S.W.-S. or similar)

    Preferred Eligibility Qualification(s):

    • Experience in development, coordination, administration of Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for alcohol and other drug adult clients.

    Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
