Renaissance Counseling and Consultation (RCC) invites applications for a part-time clinical mental health counselor position. It is anticipated that this position will have the option to move to full-time within 6-12 months, given current practice projections and predicated on employee’s desires for the position.
About RCC:
Renaissance Counseling and Consultation, LLC (RCC), is a small private practice located in Lancaster Ohio, just 30 miles southeast of the capital city, Columbus. Opened in 2018, RCC is a quickly growing practice owned by Dr. Sean Gorby who is also a Clinical Instructor at Capital University in their Counselor Education Program, as well as the Chair of the Ohio Counseling Association’s Government Relations Committee. Growth at RCC is not judged by the number of clients served but by the quality of services provided to clients through counseling and to the greater Lancaster community through various consultation services. RCC provides individual counseling for adults and child/adolescent, couples counseling, and family counseling. RCC also provides various consolation services as well as free quarterly marriage seminars and parenting workshops. RCC is young in its growth and is looking for a clinician that desires to be a part of a collaborative clinical team, works hard to provide excellent clinical services, and is excited about embracing a pioneering spirit motivated to think creatively about connecting mental health services and programs to match the needs in the Lancaster community.
Responsibilities:
- Perform assessments, evaluations, observations and interviews using a variety of assessment tools to identify needs and formulate diagnostic impressions
- Provide direct counseling to individuals, couples, and families
- Provide crisis interventions
- Complete and maintain documentation in a timely and accurate manner and according to Federal, State, and agency guidelines
- Participate in team meetings, peer reviews, treatment plan review, and clinical consultation
- Case consultation with treatment team, when applicable
- Provide group counseling (as needed)
- Work with consultation team (negotiable)
- Work with educational team to provide mental health seminars, workshops, and resources through a variety of psychoeducational platforms (negotiable)
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s Degree (or higher) in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or other related behavioral health field
- Independently licensed in respective field (i.e. LPCC, LISW)
- Experience using evidence-based treatment practices with child/adolescents
- Working knowledge or experience facilitating group counseling
- Working knowledge or experience with addictions and dual diagnoses
- Working knowledge or familiarity of wellness perspectives as well as various spiritual/religious perspectives that the client may hold, including but not limited to Christianity
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree (or higher) in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or other related behavioral health field
- Must hold or obtain a current Ohio license in related field (i.e. LPC, LSW, LMFT)
- Working knowledge and experience implementing multicultural and social justice competencies within counseling
- Able to make professional evaluations, decisions, and recommendation for diagnosis, treatment planning, and implementation
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable treating both routine and serious mental and emotional disorders
Additional Info:
- Competency-based pay
- Flexible hours but would be required to have evening availability at least one (1) evening per week
