Position Summary:
The Trauma Therapist provides individual and group therapeutic services to all survivors of rape and sexual abuse, as well as to non-offending family members, guardians, and other close supporters. The Trauma Therapist has a productivity requirement of 35% and is expected to independently manage a case load to ensure that all clients receive timely services. The Trauma Therapist has experience with co-occurring disorders such as addictions and severe mental illness.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides primary therapy for survivors of sexual violence, non-offending family members, partners, guardians or loved ones of all ages; co-facilitates survivor support groups.
- Provides consultation and education to non-offending family members, guardians, or loved ones and works with the family to connect them to appropriate support services in the community.
- Employs strategies of intervention that are consistent with empirically supported treatments and program expectations, and are culturally appropriate
- Works closely with the all Therapeutic Services Team members to identify the needs of clients and their support systems.
- Completes data collection, data entry, and required reports and other related administrative paperwork in accordance with program timelines and standards.
- Maintains productivity expectations, which may change based on the goals of the agency.
- Effectively coordinates client care with other service providers and community resources to ensure continuity of care.
- Provides task supervision to interns in the therapeutic services program.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
