The Behavioral Health Therapist provides quality comprehensive dually diagnosed assessments, interventions, education, referrals and consultations to and for patients in the primary care setting; in addition to supporting the integrated model of care services by consulting with other providers and educating other staff both clinical and administrative both as needed as requested.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Consults and collaborates with primary care providers and other staff regarding all areas of behavioral health related issues for children, adolescents, adults, and families.
- Provides brief, solution-focused behavioral health interventions with active development of Behavioral Change planning.
- Cultivates education, administration and self-management skills for targeted populations with psychological or behavioral health issues.
- Provides education to assist with enhancing primary care provider’s utilization of behavioral health interventions.
- Promotes and supports the integrated model of care that fosters a smooth interface between medical and behavioral health care throughout the organization.
- Participates as a member of a multidisciplinary team to facilitate teamwork, improve patient care processes and outcomes.
- Provides services and interventions in accordance with organization policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Demonstrates communication skills that are clear, effective, facilitate patient care and team functioning, and is respectful of differences.
Required Knowledge, Experience or Licensure/Registration
- Master's degree in the Behavioral Health field (Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work) with at least two (2) years of experience as an independently licensed provider is required.
- Licensed in State of Ohio as LISW, LPCC or psychologist.
- Ability to work independently as well as a valued member of an integrated team.
- Computer experience required; previous experience with EMR preferred.
- Ability to work with a culturally diverse group of people.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours as required by position.
