Beech Brook, one of Northeast Ohio’s premier behavioral agencies, is partnering with College Now, a provider of mentoring, financial aid, and college access services to prepare students for college and careers. Beech Brook is seeking an Outpatient Therapist who will provide therapy and case management for college age students referred to Beech Brook by College Now. Possible assignment of outpatient teenage or adult age clients, depending on workload. This position will require some evening availability and/or flexibility with scheduling.
Essential Responsibilities (others may be assigned):
Provide individual psychotherapy, therapeutic behavioral services and/or community psychiatric supportive treatment to college students with behavioral health concerns
Conduct a thorough mental health assessment, including diagnosis, treatment planning and linkage, as needed to appropriate internal and external services
Complete daily progress notes and other Medicaid documentation within proper timeframes
Develop client focused treatment plans and monitor for progress
Partner with both internal and external treatment providers in implementing and evaluating the ITP/treatment plan
Connect college students with community resources in the community in which they reside
Develop effective relationships to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team
Education and Licensure:
Master’s Degree
LSW, PC, MFT or similar
Qualifications:
Experience working with adolescents and college-age students
Skilled in using computer software applications such as Microsoft Office
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Must have a valid OH driver’s license with no more than 5 points and 24/7 availability
Must have established internet access
For telehealth candidates, previous experience delivering services virtually/via video meeting software
Preferred Qualifications:
At least two years of experience providing cognitive behavioral therapy to young adults
Knowledge of community resources
Experience with electronic medical records documentation such as progress notes, treatment plans and other necessary clinical documentation.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations with complex psychiatric needs
Clinical Competencies:
Ability to coordinate with community service agencies.
Ability to assess students’ socio-emotional, behavioral and safety needs.
