Master’s Level Clinical Internship Opportunity for the Fall 2021-Spring 2022 Semesters

Counseling Services at Kent State University at Stark invites applications for a clinical internship for the Fall 2021-Spring 2022 semesters for master’s students in Clinical Mental Health Counseling programs. The internship is designed for 20 hours per week for 32 weeks (16 weeks each semester) with the possibility of some work between semesters if necessary/preferred. Weekly internship hours may be adjusted depending on the specific needs of your internship program. Duties will consist of providing direct counseling services to clients, administrative duties, and other center-related duties as assigned. Interns will have the opportunity to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and provide services addressing a variety of mental and emotional disorders. At this time, group counseling hours are not available. Therefore, interns will need to arrange for other group counseling opportunities.

Counseling Services at Kent State University at Stark is a clinical counseling center that provides mental health counseling services, off-campus referral assistance/linkage and outreach programming to Stark campus students. Counseling Services maintains daytime hours. Services are free-of-charge to KSU Stark students. Counseling Services utilizes EMR software for scheduling and documentation. At this time, the internship position is unpaid.

We will accept applications until Friday, April 30th at 5pm. Phone and/or in-person interviews will take place thereafter. Interested individuals should complete the online application (https://kent.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3wsfg6NtjsAfa5w) and upload a current resume with two (2) professional references for review. At least one of the references should be someone who can speak to the applicant’s clinical abilities (e.g. past practicum instructor, supervisor, counseling faculty). Letters of recommendation are not required but may be requested as the interview process progresses.
