Program Overview
Located in Columbus, OH, Torii Behavioral Health provides treatment services to adolescents, ages 12 to 17, with
Mental health and behavioral disorders. We have a 20-bed Acute hospital accredited by the Joint Commission for teens
requiring intensive crisis care and treatment intervention.
Position Overview
We have an immediate opening for a licensed Art Therapist who will provide therapeutic services to patients in our
20-bed Acute unit.
Position Duties
· Assess the needs and understand the feelings and temperament of patients.
· Ability to conduct individual and group therapeutic art/recreational sessions in a safe and therapeutic environment.
· Collaborate with inter-disciplinary teams to plan and implement a patient’s therapeutic goals and objectives.
· Assists in performing functional assessments of behaviors by gathering data relative to the conditions under which target behaviors occur.
· Supports the inter-disciplinary teams in carrying out activities and behavioral interventions, as scheduled.
· Attend treatment team meetings and report on progress of patients.
· Responsible for ensuring interventions are held at the frequency documented on the ISP, unless clinically indicated otherwise.
· Assists in developing intervention strategies that reinforce correct behaviors.
· Responsible for timely completing assessments, progress notes and other required documentation within company and agency policies and guidelines.
· Ability to comprehend and demonstrate an understanding of the developmental milestones of children.
· Ensures the patient’s confidentiality is maintained according to the policies and procedures of the facility and the regulatory agencies.
· Ability to identify and maintain appropriate therapeutic boundaries with patients.
· Responsible for complying with all applicable requirements within scope of practice.
· Maintain art therapy space and materials.
- · Attends job specific meetings and/or training as scheduled.
Position Requirements
Minimum of master’s degree in Art Therapy. Previous experience in human services preferred.
Current, valid Ohio LPC license
