Chemical Dependency Counselor - Stepping Stones Therapeutic Community

    CompDrug, a recognized provider of prevention and treatment services, has an immediate opening for a chemical dependency counselor at the Stepping Stones Therapeutic Community within Grafton Reintegration Center.

    Key Responsibilities:

    ·         Provide individual and group counseling in accordance with CompDrug clinical philosophy.

    ·         Case management of individual caseload, including assessment, master treatment plan and monitoring client progress.

    ·         Assist in providing and coordinating trainings, seminars, recreational activities and special events for community members.

    ·         Support and monitor crew functions.

    ·         Create and maintain appropriate and required documentation.

    ·         Develop and maintain effective relationships with leadership, peers, community members and institution staff.

    ·         Participate in patient case finding and follow up services.

    Requirements:

    ·         Possess or be in the process of obtaining CDCA certification.

    ·         Minimum two years employment, volunteer work or education beyond high school or GED, preferably related to counseling, chemical dependency or psychology.

    ·         Excellent human relations skills and the ability to handle different personalities and situations while interacting with staff and community members with respect and empathy.

    ·         Ability to effectively, accurately, clearly and confidentially communicate in oral and written form.

    ·         Exhibit a high level of attention to detail, amid a fast paced, group environment.

    ·         Possess working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations governing treatment facilities, including but not limited to HIPPA, PREA and Title 42, Part 2.
