As the Director of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Center of Excellence (CJ CCoE) at NEOMED, I am excited to share the posting for our newest position: Director, Substance Use Deflection Initiative. This full time position with directly over see two positions (Program Coordinator and Research Coordinator) and be responsible for overseeing, implementing, managing and evaluating the new substance use deflection initiative being undertaken by the CJ CCoE. It will include statewide partnerships with organizations and communities. It will also include identifying and disseminating best practices to reduce overdose deaths, increase health-facing responses to individuals living with addiction and decrease justice-facing responses to substance use and co-occurring disorders.

The CJ CCoE has multiple initiatives that cover the state of Ohio to assist the mental health, crisis response, and criminal justice systems in communities collaborate for better outcomes for both individuals in mental health crisis and those with mental illness that come in contact with their local criminal justice systems.
