CARE Social Work Supervisor

Columbus Public Health is seeking a Social Work Supervisor with the Columbus CARE Coalition, a collaborative effort to address community trauma. The Columbus CARE Coalition is comprised of members of the community who believe that when trauma happens to one, it happens to all of us. We seek to support, educate, and engage community organizations who serve Columbus residents including mental health providers, community organizations, city government, and community activists. Collectively, our work will increase sensitivity, awareness and build resilience in neighborhoods and families. The CARE team interacts with a wide variety of key community stakeholders in effort to best serve clients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: Master’s in Social Work with Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory status (LISW-S) preferred.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE: This unique position oversees staff with both an individual and community focus, requiring the ability to be flexible and open to emergent issues and needs as they arise. The ability to work weekend and evening hours as needed is required to respond to urgent community situations. Demonstrated social work ability to engage, intervene, and supervise staff. Knowledge of community engagement, vicarious trauma, advocacy, ability to motivate and support a team, effective documentation skills, and excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
