This training will explore ethical complexities that arise in grief counseling, including boundary management, self-disclosure, competence, and the clinician’s own relationship to loss. Participants will be given real-world case examples through the lens of professional codes of ethics (ACA) and discuss strategies for navigating countertransference, dual relationships, and client vulnerability. Specific emphasis will be placed in this training on informed consent, cultural humility in grief and bereavement care, and ethical considerations in diagnosis.
Approved for 3 Ethics CE credits by the Ohio Counseling Association, accepted by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist Board.
