This training is approved for CE for social workers, counselors, and marriage and family therapists in the state of Ohio. This training is approved for chemical dependency treatment counselors in domain C7 and prevention professionals in domain PR1 (renewals only) in the state of Ohio.

Description: It is important that crisis intervention workers and mental health providers understand how to prevent and address burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma. As these issues develop, providers struggle and are at an increased risk of negatively impacting those served. In this session, risk factors associated with these issues will be discussed. Strategies that can prevent these issues from developing will be discussed as will intervention strategies. Attendees will engage in self-assessment and experiential activities that will help them to consider how their work is helping them and what they can do to be well and provide the best care possible to those they serve.
