“Shared College Experiences”: Panel of Multicultural Students

1 General CE has been requested

This interactive presentation will include personal anecdotes from a panel of minority college students. The panel will be moderated by Dr. Sonji Gregory, a clinical counselor and college professor. The panel of college students will share their personal experiences with discrimination and micro-aggressions on their college campuses. The students will also share suggestions of how the university administration and college counselors could have made the environment on campus more welcoming for minority students. The program will conclude with a question and answer time.

This workshop is designed to help you:

1. Identify microaggressions experienced by multi-cultural college students.

2. Recognize acts of discrimination within college campuses.

3. Identify practical ways that college counselors can create a safe space for minority students
