Amanda Cole, LPC has been a licensed counselor for over a decade and has worked in a variety of settings including for a community agency, a private practice, a university counseling center, and an animal-assisted therapy farm. Amanda has served clients of diverse backgrounds with a myriad symptom presentations. Her primary specialty is working with LGBTGEQIAP+ youth and their families. She is passionate about Psychodrama group practice and study at both the National Psychodrama Training Center and the Psychodrama & Creative Arts Therapy Institute of New York. Amanda has been a supervisor for the past six years, supporting the professional development of counselor trainees in practicum and internship, as well as professional counselors working toward independent licensure. She is a current doctoral candidate at Kent State University in the Counselor Education and Supervision program where she is also part-time teaching faculty for master’s practicum courses. Additionally, she has been an adjunct professor at the University of Akron in the School of Counseling since 2021, where she has taught six different courses to date. Amanda has given over 30 professional presentations, workshops, and trainings to local, state, regional, and national audiences primarily focused on counseling children via telehealth and advocacy efforts to better support transgender adolescents. She also currently holds leadership positions in the Ohio Counseling Association and the Association for Humanistic Counseling. Amanda is proud to be a licensed professional clinical counselor and is grateful for all those who serve our clients and this field. |
